Caterpillar Class: September 2022 - July 2023
Music Lesson
3 October 2022
Today in Caterpillar Class the children enjoyed learning how to play the recorder. For many children, it was was their first time using a recorder. They were taught how to hold the recorder and with lots of concentration and dexterity they practiced correct finger and thumb positions. Once they were all confident, they learnt to play the notes of C, B and G. They are all looking forward to the challenge of playing a tune to a song in the next lesson.
Kiwi Class: September 2021 - July 2022
Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory
Kiwi Class was transformed into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory last week!
The children have been reading the Roald Dahl book 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' for English so Miss Galvin and Mrs Moody turned their desks into a factory with sweets and bubbles galore!
This was all to inspire the children with their writing about the journey on the chocolate river.
Fairtrade Fortnight
21 February to 6 March 2022
For two weeks each year at the end of February and start of March, thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid.
Well done to Rhys who created this informative PowerPoint slide and presented it to his class today.
Kiwi Class Big Garden Birdwatch

Kiwi Class took part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch at school on Friday as part of their science work.
They were joined by bird expert Ian Searle, who took them out in the playground birdwatching and helped them identify some of the birds they spotted.
The children were all given sheets of different birds to look out for and learnt all about the local environment and the changing habitats for our birds. They also made special bird feeders from toilet rolls and bird seeds. A big thank you to Ian for coming in and sharing his expertise.
Celebrating Black History Month
Kiwi Class celebrated Black History Month by presenting an exhibition to Upper School. The children researched inspirational individuals who made and impact on how black people were perceived.
Well done to Rhys in Kiwi Class who was awarded PLAYER OF THE WEEK last week at Canterbury Rugby Club for his effort and improvement. Fantastic Rhys!
