Remembrance Day

Mrs Gilbert organised a special day in school on Thursday where the children learnt about and took part in various activities linked with Remembrance. There was a special
Remembrance Collective Worship in school, which included a 2 minute silence.

In class the children were looking at names included on the Whitstable War Memorial for WW1 and looked at family connections to Whitstable and the history of the soldier. Each class decorated a cut out of a soldier with poems and poppies. This really helped the children understand that all of the names on the War Memorials were all real people, with real lives.

The Rev. Rachel is laying our school wreath on our behalf at the Service being held at the Whitstable War Memorial on Sunday 12 November at 11am.
