The start of our celebrations...

Memorabilia: 1845 - 2025

  • The Endowed was built in 1844 and opened its doors to the first pupils in 1845.
  • The school was established by Whitstable Non-ecclesiastial Trust who gave money to the Whitstable Education Foundation to build a school.
  • The school was in two parts for boys and girls and the Headteachers shared the house which was divided into two living areas. The hall was the boys' school room and the computer room and Class 8 the girls'.
  • When The Endowed became a girls' school in the 1920s the boys moved up to what is now Whitstable Juniors. The boys returned in the 1980s making The Endowed a mixed school once again.
