This week's Toucan achievements

Look at what we have been up to!

Collective Worship: Easter Service

This week our year 4 children presented the Easter Story in church worship. We had focused on the four key days: Palm Sunday Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday posing the question Why 'Good Friday'?

The children did an amazing job learning their lines and speaking confidently and clearly. We are really proud of them!

Their art work was beautiful and focused on the four key days. This work was inspired by our class discussions about each of the images shown on the PowerPoint and the events of the traditional Christian Easter story.

Joan Miro

In Toucan class, we have been thinking about what inspires an artist. Joan Miró was a Spanish artist famous for combining abstract art with surrealism. He worked in a variety of media. Not only did he produce paintings and drawings, his body of work includes collages, murals, tapestries, and sculptures. In Art this term, we are creating our own pieces of art inspired by famous artists. This work focused on creating magical, mystical creatures inspired by Miro.

Alfie was inspired by the the Year 5s Poetry Slam, and impressed us with his amusing impromptu poetry about Grandparents!
