    A Magical Day Out

Year 5 had a magical day out to The Making of Harry Potter this week. We started our visit with a lesson in costume distressing, learning about how the costumes are created for the films. We then enjoyed exploring different scenes and sets from the film series, including boarding the Hogwarts Express, taking a walk down Diagon Alley and encountering Aragog in the Forbidden Forest!

    Easter Gardens

I wanted to extend a personal thank you to all our wonderful Endowed children for their Easter Garden entries. They have amazed and impressed me with their creativity, flair, imagination and skill. This is a record-breaking year with 63 entries, including Lego models, nature inspired gardens, video animations, computer generated images and dioramas with lights and moving parts. Judging this year is going to be so tricky! Winners will be announced later today. Mrs Gilbert

    Eggs-cellent

EGGS-CELLENT! Well done to our school cooks Mrs Flahaut and Mrs Rigden who put on a lovely Easter roast dinner on Wednesday, with delicious mini-egg cheesecake for dessert. They also decorated the canteen with a special Easter theme.

Easter Service - From Pharoah to Freedom

Well done to our fantastic Year 4 dancers who performed at the Easter Service arranged by Rev Rachel at St Alphege Church on Wednesday evening. We hope everyone who attended had a wonderful time.

    Hockey Award

Well done to Mariama who ended her hockey season last weekend, by being presented with a special achievement award. The award was presented by GB hockey goalie James Mazarello. Fantastic!

Good Luck to Beamo who has entered an art competition run by the Royal Academy of Art.

Title: Recycle of Life, Acrylics on recycled cardboard 360mm x 370mm
Artist Description: One day my dad came home with a new Henry vacuum cleaner. I realised a bit of packaging on it looked very much like a face, the face of an animal! So I painted it with bright, glowing colours which represent lots of different animals, each of which could be saved from more of us
recycling. Hence Hence the theme of my art is to shout out 'recycle!'

    The Race to Space

We enjoyed a special MATHS DAY 2024 with The Race to Space
today. Following an assembly where children learnt some of the tasks the astronauts undertake to go to space, they then had to use their maths knowledge to rank 6 different British Astronauts to find out the most suitable person to go to space.

We loved all your space themed outfits!

    Ambassadors: Bradbury Grange Visit

Some of our Vision Ambassadors and Mrs Perry visited Bradbury Grange Nursing home this week. They read Easter poems, a bible reading, a quotation and a prayer. They took the residents some daffodils and an Easter card. The children chatted to the residents and enjoyed their interactive table.

    Shore crab class

PE on Thursday was a little different as Shore Crab class visited the Whitstable Junior School and joined another Y3 class for PE. Lots of team spirit and games played together and they were all delighted to see some familiar faces from their old infant schools.

  • Poetry workshop

    Poetry Workshop

Reni & Honey represented our school, alongside Sylvia and James from Starfish class, at a Schools’ Poetry workshop with local poet, CharlotteCornell. She was the winner of Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year 2021, and is a creative writer and educator. The workshop was based around this year’s National Poetry Theme ‘COUNTING’. The children explored poetry through different activities and were inspired to explore their own creative writing together through editing techniques, imagery and collage, before finishing the workshop by writing their own poems.
