29 September
Our Year 4 Octopus and Penguin classes have been learning all about Maya buildings and comparing their structures to Anglo-Saxon homes. They had great fun putting their learning into practice by designing and building their own Ancient Maya inspired structures using a variety of materials, including recycled boxes, LEGO and bricks.
15 September
Monkton Nature Reserve came in and gave a delightful talk about the reserve and all the different species of animals and insects that live there. She listened carefully to the children’s questions and brought in some examples from nature for the children to see. The children really enjoyed learning about the wildlife and were excited to see the nature examples up close.

11 September
Y4 Penguin class today used different buttons to create their own Carroll diagrams! The children sorted the buttons into groups by looking at their different features, such as colour, size and shape.
They had lots of fun sorting, discussing and explaining their choices. Fantastic teamwork and scientific thinking from everyone!
