Capybara Class: September 2026 - July 2027

18 September
Our artistic Capybara Class have been taking inspiration from the iconic The Scream, by Edvard Munch. Children carefully recreated the famous painting using chalk. Lots of wonderful examples of creativity and imagination and a fantastic interpretation of such a well-known work of art.
15 September
Monkton Nature Reserve came in and gave a delightful talk about the reserve and all the different species of animals and insects that live there. She listened carefully to the children’s questions and brought in some examples from nature for the children to see. The children really enjoyed learning about the wildlife and were excited to see the nature examples up close.
11 September
Today we explored perspective drawing and learnt how artists can make pictures look more realistic and three-dimensional. We practised showing distance, size and position to create the illusion of depth. The children enjoyed experimenting with their drawings and seeing how small changes can make a big difference!
