Virtual Reality School Trip

Virtual Orchestra

On Wednesday morning we took 14 children from Upper School over to the Sidney Cooper Centre in Canterbury to experience the immersive "Virtual Orchestra" exhibition. For most of our children it was their first encounter with classical orchestral music. It was really exciting to see professionals playing instruments the children themselves are learning! There were also opportunities to play unusual instruments such as tubular bells, a huge bass drum, a gong, chimes and a wave drum. Perhaps the most thrilling part of the morning however, was the experience of playing theĀ viola in an orchestra through virtual reality headsets! The exhibition is on 28 April, and is completely free to entre! Why not check it out this Easter?
