Juggling Periwinkles

Periwinkle class had an exciting morning finishing their handmade juggling balls and trying them out for purpose. In class, the children used different grains for fillings and then, expertly, hand-sewed the final seams to seal the casing. Due to excellent tie-dying, sewing and filling the class have fantastic juggling balls to take home today. Well done Periwinkles!

We hope Year 3 are excited about their trip to Wingham
Wildlife Park on TUESDAY 12 MARCH for a day linked to their English work on The Jungle Book.
A few reminders about the day:

  • Please arrive normal time– the coach is leaving school at 9.15am and hoping to return around 3.00pm
  • Don’t forget to bring a packed lunch (no glass bottles, fizzy drinks, chewing gum or items containing hibiscus, kiwi,
  • blueberries, pineapple or nuts please)
  • Please wear school uniform, bring a raincoat and
  • sensible footwear (not trainers or sandals).
  • Children may bring spending money, strictly up to £5.00 to buy a souvenir of their day

Afternoon everybody.

Please see copy of an email sent to Periwinkle Class families this afternoon.  In terms of how PPA and timetabling will look from Term 5, we will share this with you all, once we have chatted about this at our SLT on Friday.  Thank you.

Dear Families of Periwinkle Class

We are pleased to let you know the arrangements for Periwinkle Class later this year whilst Miss Chapman takes maternity leave.  Mrs Broadbent and Mrs Stanley, who have been looking after Oyster Class whilst Mrs Blinston Jones has been on maternity leave, will move to look after Periwinkle for the rest of this academic year from Term 5 in a job share capacity.  As both teachers are currently already teaching in our school, they will be known to the children and Mrs Stanley already works with Periwinkle during Miss Chapman’s PPA afternoon.  We will confirm which days the teachers will be in class once this has been confirmed.  Thank you.

Pablo Picasso

Periwinkle class had great fun in art today. They experimented by drawing parts of their own face using block colours, shapes, and background objects based on inspirational pictures by the artist Pablo Picasso.

Letter from Bradbury Grange

Exciting news: Dorcas received a reply from a resident of Bradbury Grange! And what a reply....99 years old! Imagine that.

Jean is going to be 100 very soon and she is an author of children's books and stories.

More exciting news, Arthur also received a reply from Jean - what a wonder lady.
