With the lockdown still in effect local Councillor Chris Cornell has let us know that two local youth groups (Who Let the Dad’s Out & Whitsparkle) are working to support Age UK in a programme to see if they can get 120 sets of cupcakes baked by local people for elderly residents receiving Meals on Wheels this VE Day.

The project seems a very sensible way of marking the occasion through a simple act of generosity and we are seeing if schools could support the idea in their recommended home school learning for the week beginning the 4^th May.

People only need to bake a small box of cupcakes and drop them into the reception of Age UK (16 Reculver Road) anytime on Thursday 7^th.
