    Quicksticks Hockey Champions!

Huge Congratulations to our 'Endowed' Hockey Team who won the Quicksticks Hockey Tournament organised by the Sports Game Coastal Partnership. The children had been practising in their lunch times and were very excited to put their skills into play.

"On Wednesday a mixture of Y5/6 children travelled to Polo Farm in Canterbury for the Quicksticks Hockey Tournament. We won our first game against a very tough Herne Juniors team. Our second game however resulted in a draw against Hampton.

Having beaten Davington, we won our group. We then won our quarter-finals 5-0 against Herne Bay Juniors and semi-finals against St Mary's 3-0. In the final we faced Herne Juniors in a repeat of the first game. The team defended heroically and scored the break away goal to win the tournament. We now look forward to the county finals in Chatham in June."

    Primary School Dance Festival

Thank you and well done to all the amazing dancers who took part in the Primary School Dance Festival at Herne Bay High on Thursday. The Festival was celebrating all things Roald Dahl an our dance group worked with sixth form Dance Leaders to produce a dance and drama piece based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Along with the other schools they performed to a packed auditorium and had all worked incredibly hard, with a very professional performance. It was a fantastic experience for them and one I hope they remember.

    Premier League Stars!

Well done to our Girls football team who had the amazing opportunity to compete in the Premier League Primary Star Football Competition at the University of Kent.

Right from kick off the girls played with amazing confidence and comfortably won six group matches consecutively and succeeded in winning their semi-final 1-0 to gain their place in the final against Upton, who proved a disciplined and relentless team. The girls dug in deep and with a last minute shot hitting the post just before the final whistle the match ended in a nail-biting 0-0. In extra time a well organised Upton proved too strong and unfortunately scored two great goals earning them a place to play at the regional finals at Leicester City FC.

We are so proud of our girl's attitude and behaviour as they played confidently as a team with great skill. I would like to thank all the girls and parents who displayed courage, determination and above all respect for their opponents during a very exciting afternoon.

    Paul Baybutt

It was a special moment for the Y6 girls as this is likely to be their last competitive tournament playing in 'Team Endowed' football shirts.

"We would like to thank Mr Hadlow for entering us into this tournament and for Mr Wren and Mr Baybutt for their sideline support and code coaching tactics! This year has been amazing and we have enjoyed playing as a team and will miss playing for the Endowed as we are all great friends. Thank you!" Kirsten, Lily C, Lyla, Olivia E, Olivia F and Ruby C.

    World Book Day Pictures

Our World Book Day celebrations may have been delayed by a week because of last week's snow but it certainly didn't stop us! The school had a fantastic day celebrating all things book related.

It was lovely to see so many creative character costumes which looked amazing in The Great Costume Parade. Congratulations to all of our class winners:

Claudine - Giraffe, Will - Panda, Ted - Turtle, Ellen - Butterfly, Hugo - Osprey and Fletcher - Bear.

Also a huge well done to all our winners of the Extreme Reading, Author Takeover, Quiz Time and Books and Me! competitions.

  • Let it Snow!

    Mon 05 Mar 2018

    LET IT SNOW!

There certainly was no business like SNOW business last week as we all enjoyed the biggest snowfall Whitstable has seen for many years. We hope you got to enjoy some sledging, building snowmen or having a good old fashion snowball fight!

A big thank you to all our staff who in precarious conditions worked hard and did their best to get into school. We tried to stay open to support all our parents/carers especially the key worker parents we have that are Police Officers, Lifeboat Crew, teachers and in the Health Services that provided important services.

Children who came to school were treated to hot chocolate with marshmallows (thanks to a kind donation from Mr Gaskin). We will certainly remember our 'Beast from the East' week for many years to come.
