    RE Poetry & Art Evening

Working in collaboration with the Coastal Alliance Co-operative Trust of Herne Bay & Whitstable schools, yesterday eveming some of our children attended an evening of poetry and artwork, exploring the big question. 'Where is God?'. They performed their poems and showcased their artwork to an audience of over 100 parents, clergy and invited guests. In all, 10 Endowed children had their work selected to be published in an anthology produced by Canterbury Diocese. And to top off the evening, Eryn M was recognosed for her 'evocative & emotional' art and Max G won the overall prize for the best poem. What a fantastic achievement.

    LEGOLAND: Inspirational outside learning

To support their English Theme in Terms 1 & 2 the Upper School enjoyed an exciting and inspiring outside learning trip to Legoland on Monday to extend creative curriculum.

Apart from enjoying lots of fun and exciting rides, the engaging trip also helped them learn to use creative play as a basis for narrative writing. It will also help them to explore character development and the use of settings to add depth to their fiction writing. Children and staff had a great day and we can't wait to see the work the experience inspires!

    Exploring, discovering and learning

On Monday, the children of Lower School enjoyed a brilliant outdoor learning experience on their school trip to Dungeness. They enjoyed the historic Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway journey from New Romney to Dungeness. Once in Dungeness they climbed the steps to the top of the The Old Lighthouse which is an Historic Grade 11 building and learnt about the coastline and sea defenses. This term their hook in English is ‘Lighthouses and Coast’ and we hope this adventurous trip will inspire their writing and work on this topic.

It was a great day and we were very lucky with the weather which captured the mood and natural beauty of this unique Kent coastline.
