    Kiwi Class: Big Garden Birdwatch

Kiwi Class took part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch at school on Friday as part of their science work.

They were joined by bird expert Ian Searle, who took them out in the playground birdwatching and helped them identify some of the birds they spotted.

The children were all given sheets of different birds to look out for and learnt all about the local environment and the changing habitats for our birds. They also made special bird feeders from kitchen rolls and bird seeds. A big thank you to Ian for coming in and sharing his expertise.

    #teammiles - Charity Football Match

Please come and support Whitstable Town FC for their 3pm kick off against
Sittingbourne this Saturday in their match dedicated to help fundraise for the Teenage Cancer Trust and one of our ex-pupils Miles.

Many of our families with older children will remember Miles and his Mum Sarah Luckhurst, who was a teacher at The Endowed for many years. Miles is currently undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with bone cancer.
We hope lots of you are able to come along and show your support.

    Girls Football News

After hitting the woodwork on several occasions and playing brilliantly in freezing conditions, our girls football team sadly lost their final game of the season to Herne Juniors 4-1 with Lily M scoring. Overall, the girls have had a superb season, learnt lots and have been an absolute pleasure to coach and work with.

    All about ISLAM

Muntaha in Flamingo Class wanted to share with everyone about her religion and created this amazing poster all about ISLAM.

RE Lead Mrs G thought it was so informative and beautifully drawn that it has been copied for each class to display.

    Thank you Whitstable Library

We would like to say a huge thank you to Kirsty and Matt at Whitstable Library for their generous donation of books to the school. They invited English Lead Mrs Blinston Jones to come to the library and pick some of the books that were being discontinued and she has brought back lots of boxes of exciting new books for the children to enjoy!

    This week's News Round-up

    14 January
Getting to the heart of the matter!

This week Flamingo class had the gory pleasure of dissecting a pigs heart to enhance their learning about the human circulatory system. We spent time investigating the different sections of the heart and compared it to a diagram of a human heart. We couldn't believe the similarities! Mrs Blinston Jones

    Girls Football Results

Well done to our Girls Football Team who drew 0-0 with Reculver this week. Mr Baker said they were very resilient against a very strong team. Lily nearly scored in the second half, but it unfortunately hit the bar. Go Team Endowed!

    Queen's Jubilee: Bank Holiday

You may have heard that the country has been given an extra Bank Holiday for the Queen’s Jubilee but as both Bank Holidays lie in the May half term we, as a school, have been given an extra day to replace the Queen’s Jubilee Bank Holiday. The day given in by Kent is in July and is a day that we are already not in school due to Staff Development; so we will take the Queen’s Jubilee Day off on Monday June 6th . Term 6 therefore will be: Tuesday 7th June until Wednesday 20th July 2022.

CHANGES TO THE SELF-ISOLATINO PERIOD FOR THOSE WHO TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

From Monday 17 January, people who are self-isolating with COVID-19 will have the option to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days if they test negative with an LFD test on both day 5 and day 6 and they do not have a temperature. For example, if they test negative on the morning of day 5 and the morning of day 6, they can return to their education or childcare setting immediately on day 6. The first test must be taken no earlier that day 5 of the self-isolation period, and the second must be taken the following day. All test results should be reported to NHS Test and Trace. If the result of either of their tests is positive, they should continue to self-isolate until they get negative results from two LFD tests on consecutive days or until they have completed 10 full days of self-isolation, which ever is earliest. Anyone who is unable to take LFD tests or anyone who continues to have a temperature will need to complete the full 10 day period of self-isolation. Further information on self-isolation for those with COVID-19 is available.
