Reduce, Reuse and Recyle
Wed 29 Sep 2021Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Competition Winners!
And the winners are... Jesse and Bella! Mrs Gilbert thought your poster was brilliant - really clear, colourful and eye-catching. This poster is now on display around the school and we hope it will remind people of how important those 3 Rs are - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I am currently creating copies to take to Sainsbury's, the Co-Op and McDonalds to see if they will display our fabulous poster, too! Watch this space!

News Round-up
Fri 24 Sep 2021Recycle Week
As part of our "Let's Go Zero by 2030" campaign, this year each class will be taking charge of an environmental event and raising awareness of issues around the world.
First up, it's Hummingbird Class who have been learning all about the importance of recycling in aid of Recycling Week 2021. The children have been busy designing posters to help encourage people to recycle more and these will be judged next week by our Lower School leader Mrs Gilbert.
The winner will have their poster displayed around school - and hopefully in some local shops! Miss Braid

Author Visit: Steve Clifford
Fri 17 Sep 2021Author Steve Clifford's Workshops and Lessons
The children enjoyed some fantastic workshops and lessons this week with author Steve Clifford. Steve focused on the importance of allowing the children's imagination to run free and then to come back to edit it once they have written what lies in their own imagination.
From one of our children: 'I feel like my brain came alive. Steve taught us about writing with our imagination and how we can then work on everything else in our edit. When we read our stories as a class they were all really good and I felt very proud of myself. My teacher read hers too and it was so good to hear how we all had such different stories.'
We really hope they were inspired by the fantastic work they created with his help and it sparked a love of reading and creative writing!
