World Maths Day
Fri 25 Mar 2022World Maths Day
On Wednesday the children celebrated World Maths Day . They discovered that Smarties are not only a delicious chocolate treat - they can also support their Maths learning. The children used Smarties to create tally charts, bar graphs and pie charts and investigate data fractions, percentages and ratios. Well done to all of the ‘mathmagicians' that made the day so special.

Ukraine Relief Effort
Thu 24 Mar 2022Volunteering for Ukraine Relief Effort
Theo in Penguin Class went to Folkestone with his parents on Wednesday to help with the Ukraine Relief Effort. Theo helped to unload cars and vans which turned up, and put the donations onto trolleys. They then sorted the donations into food, clothing, bedding, toys, medical supplies, sanitary ware etc. Theo also helped to put the labels into alphabetical order and to tape the boxes up too. He spoke to Peter (who was organsing the project) about containers that were donated t store the donations.
Well done Theo on letting your Light Shine through helping others.

Easter Art & Photography Challenge
Mon 21 Mar 2022Easter Art & Photography Challenge
We would like to invite all children to take part in our Easter Art or Photography Challenge by creating a piece of Easter inspire art - a painting, drawing, collage, photograph or garden. Get our your paints, crayons, pencils and cameras and explore your gardens, the beach, the woods and the local area for inspiration.
What Easter inspired words can you 'spell' out?
In previous years we have seen some amazing entries and I am sure that the children will surpass themselves again this year and we look forward to receiving lots of entries.
Please ensure that your child's entry sent to school has their name and classroom clearly labelled or email Mrs Gilbert sgilbert@whitstable-endowed.kent.sch.uk by Wednesday 20 April.
Good Luck everyone!
Mrs Gilbert

News Round-Up
Fri 11 Mar 2022News Round-Up
Non-Uniform for Ukraine
Friday, 11 March
We were overwhelmed with your generosity of supply donations for the Ukrainian refugees. Mrs Gower will be taking the donations to St Mary’s Catholic School where they will then continue their journey to those in need.
Thank you very much.
Collective Worship
Wednesday, 9 March
On Wednesday, the school were able to engage with Collective Worship in St Alphege Church with Rev’ Simon again. He shared a story Jesus told to describe the kingdom of heaven, the Treasure in the Field, which can be found in Matthew 13:44. We learnt that Jesus himself is the treasure but that for lots of people, he seems hidden. However, those who find a relationship with him, value it highly- a treasure. We also spent some time reflecting, and for some praying for peace and reconciliation both at home and around the world.
En Pointe!
Jasmine, Frieda, Lila and Jemimah in Hummingbird have all recently received medals for their Primary Ballet Award. They all scored top marks, a testament to their hard work and dedication!
Well done Girls!

Prayers for Ukraine
Tue 01 Mar 2022Prayers for Ukraine
Dear Families of The Endowed,
Obviously, the war in Ukraine is distressing for all of us. Our children will be upset and perhaps scared as well. Please see links below to Newsround pages, Save the Children and also a government page that help explore the topic and also deal with the fact that it’s okay to feel worried but more importantly how to get help and to talk about fears. I know that many of the classes have talked about this already and will continue to do so. It is important that we talk about this with our children to help them with their worries, questions and concerns.https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/13865002
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround#more-stories-2
https://www.savethechildren.org/us/charity-stories/how-to-explain-conflict-ukraine-to-children
A Prayer Station will be set up outside the main office this afternoon so please do let your children know that they can come along and write a prayer or take time to reflect in this space. You are obviously invited to do the same.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ukrainian people at this difficult time.Yours sincerely,
Ellen Taylor
