  • Virtual Reality School Trip

    Wed 27 Mar 2019

    Virtual Orchestra

On Wednesday morning we took 14 children from Upper School over to the Sidney Cooper Centre in Canterbury to experience the immersive "Virtual Orchestra" exhibition. For most of our children it was their first encounter with classical orchestral music. It was really exciting to see professionals playing instruments the children themselves are learning! There were also opportunities to play unusual instruments such as tubular bells, a huge bass drum, a gong, chimes and a wave drum. Perhaps the most thrilling part of the morning however, was the experience of playing the viola in an orchestra through virtual reality headsets! The exhibition is on 28 April, and is completely free to entre! Why not check it out this Easter?

    PTFA Quiz Night

The PTFA would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along Friday evening to support the PTFA Quiz Night. Congratulations to the winning team 'The Brexkittens' who won by 2 point – it was a very tense final round! It was a great night and we raised over £150 for school funds.  The PTFA would also like to say a special thank you to Mr  Leone (and his silver sparkly jacket) who was the most amazing compere and to Mr Dadd who came out in the middle of the night to lock up after us!

    East Kent Hockey Competition

    Upper School

On Wednesday, four boys and four girls represented the Upper School in the East Kent Hockey Competition. The team finished top of their group, winning all 3 games without conceding a goal. After winning their quarter-final, they then lost their semi-final against an excellent team who went on to win the competition. Team Endowed picked themselves up and won the bronze medal in the play-off - a terrific achievement. Huge well done to all of the team.  Mr Wren

    Lower School

The Lower School team played brilliantly reaching the quarter finals before losing narrowly to the eventual winners Reculver. I was extremely proud of their achievement as for many it was the first time they had represented the school. Mr Hadlow

  • X Factor & Red Nose Day Fun

X-Factor & Red Nose Day Fun

We had a fantastic day fundraising for Red Nose Day last Friday and raised a brilliant £191.51.

Our Endowed X-Factor performers were brilliant as it was very nerve-wracking standing on the stage in front of our audience and performing, so you should all be very proud of yourselves.

The Judges Mrs Bushell, Mrs Cullen and Mrs Gilbert had the difficult job of judging our finalist. As there was so much talent they couldn't decide on an overall winner and chose the following as their winners.

Lower-School - Hannah and Eve from Walliams Class who sang 'Make your own Kind of Music' by Paloma Faith

And Joint Upper-School winners - Iris from Dahl Class who sang Lucky One by Taylor Swift and Talula from Rowling Class who sang 'Happier' by Ed Sheeran.

  • Rowling Class Exhibition Pictures

    Tue 12 Mar 2019

    Rowling class exhibition

Rowling class had a fantastic afternoon showcasing their talents. The children entertained family and friends with a game of Kahoots and some even volunteered to demonstrate a rugby scrum! The children then showcased their own talents including musical performances on the drums, flute, piano and guitar. On stage we had singing/dancing performances, a karate display, story reading and a  'how to make your own' Mexican Salsa Dip presentation. Around the hall children also displayed their science and sporting achievements. A big thank you to all our wonderfully talented children and to family and friends who supported us and to those who were brave enough to volunteer!

    World Book Day

We have had a brilliant week at school enjoying all things books!

Mrs Luckhurst arranged lots of creative competitions and we were overwhelmed with all your fantastic responses.  It has been wonderful to see so many inspiring character costumes and see them all on display in the Carnival.

Congratulations Turner House for the winning the Inter-House Kahoots book quiz and well done to everyone who took part.
