  • Year 4 Trip to Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara

    Sun 26 Jun 2022

On Monday, 27th June, Year 4, who have been studying Sikhi this term, visited the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend.

As we arrived, we covered our heads with scarves and removed our shoes as a sign of respect before we began our guided tour.

We toured this amazing building, found out how Sikhs use it and learnt more about Sikhi beliefs and practices

We also had the opportunity to hold a Q&A session to find out more about the gurdwara and the Sikhi way of life. We were invited to the langar (kitchen) where we were offered delicious food which we shared together sitting on the floor to show that we are all equal in God’s eyes.

We would like to thank everyone at the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara for giving us such a warm welcome and for the care they took of us during our visit.

  • Resus Rangers: First Aid

    Mon 13 Jun 2022

    Resus Rangers: First Aid

Resus Rangers visited school today to deliver a whole school assembly about First Aid.

Stephen the lead Resus Ranger, talked to Lower School about what to do in an emergency. How to call 999 and what to do when speaking to the operator. He also showed us some simple first aid techniques that we might be able to use to help someone with a small injury.

Today, we started on a journey to learning lifesaving First Aid skills.

In the afternoon Resus Rescue tailored their first aid workshop to our Year6s.

The workshop was child-centred and the content specifically designed to teach First Aid skills in a fun and interactive way, this included 'Teddy Resus', minor injuries care, games, songs and rhymes, to help the children learn these important life skills.
